I voluntarily apply to participate in Storm Spotter Network activities and understand that severe-weather observation, travel, field operations, communications, training, and related volunteer activities may involve serious risks, including severe weather, lightning, flooding, wind, hail, tornadoes, falling debris, traffic hazards, property damage, bodily injury, illness, disability, or death. I knowingly and voluntarily assume these risks. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I release, waive, discharge, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Storm Spotter Network and its owners, leadership, officers, administrators, employees, agents, volunteers, instructors, affiliates, and representatives from claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising from or related to my participation, including claims arising from ordinary negligence. I understand that I am responsible for my own safety, decisions, equipment, transportation, insurance, and compliance with laws and official safety instructions; certification does not authorize me to enter restricted areas, disregard road closures, trespass, exceed traffic laws, or place myself or others in danger. I understand that this acknowledgment does not waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived. By checking the acknowledgment box and typing my full legal name, I intend to provide my electronic signature and confirm that I have read, understood, and voluntarily accepted this agreement.
